Arystan Oil actively exports raw crude oil, petrochemicals and other petroleum products to the Middle East, Asia, Europe and North America
In 2022 we oil exported a total of 21.34 million tonnes which is an improvement of about 17.4% of the previous year. Geographical diversification of supplies is our strategic priority in the sphere of oil export. In 2019 we managed to expand our export footprint by supplying energy products to North Africa countries.
The range of export petroleum products is diversified and includes gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation fuel, fuel oil, vacuum gas oil (VGO) and several other types of products. Diesel fuel accounts for the biggest share of exports (59%), while vacuum gas oil and high-octane gasoline account for about 12% and 4% respectively. The share of fuel oil in total exports amounts to approximately 11%.
The main petrochemical product exported by the group was diphenylpropane (bisphenol A), as well as granulated lump sulphur derived from gases and liquid products of pyrolysis. As part of its strategy to increase sales margins, in 2020 the company increased retail sales of petroleum products by 33%, which totals 1.4 million tonnes. In 2014 the share of retail sales in the total volume of domestic sales increased from 11% to 13%.
We attach considerable importance to improving the quality of customer service, extending its product range and increasing customer loyalty; to achieve this, it continues boosting sales of better quality gasoline and diesel fuel meeting modern European environmental and quality standards. Thus, in February 2021 Arystan Oil own network of filling stations completely switched over to selling Euro 5 gasoline and diesel fuel.
In order to create additional marketing channels for petroleum products and ensure transparency of relevant information, Arystan Oil has obtained accreditation as a participant of commodity exchanges. The Group views the exchange as an important marketing channel and believes that exchange trading will be of great importance for the development of the Kazakhstan petroleum product market in the future.
